Training Industry is a leading resource for L&D professionals, drawing over 200,000 monthly website visitors with a wide-ranging library of articles, podcasts, webinars, and research on corporate training. As AI gains traction and Google’s search dynamics shift, Training Industry recognized both a threat and an opportunity:

  • Threat: Risk losing users—and revenue—to search engines or AI models like ChatGPT if content remained hard to navigate.
  • Opportunity: Create a new membership package with an AI agent that helps users quickly find relevant information while generating new revenue.

The Challenge

Despite a wealth of high-quality content, Training Industry faced five critical problems:

  1. Hard-to-monetize content
    Visitors browsed a few free resources, then left without exploring or paying for more. Training Industry needed a way to convert this audience into paying members.
  2. Overwhelming library
    Thousands of articles, podcasts, and videos made it difficult for users to find specific answers. Without a fast way to locate relevant content, the library became a liability.
  3. Lost revenue from older material
    Valuable legacy content was buried beneath newer posts, leading to missed opportunities for upselling and deeper engagement.
  4. Inconsistent engagement
    In-person events and podcasts were popular, but their impact faded once the event or episode ended. Users had no easy way to revisit key moments, limiting long-term monetization.

Results

1,400 free trials, 11% conversion
Since its, Tia has attracted 1,400 trial users. Once Training Industry moved from a 3-month free trial to a paid model, 11% of those trial users converted into paying subscribers—about 150 new members.

Tens of thousands in new revenue
Membership is priced at $30/month or $250/year, and in the five months since the free trial phase ended, those new subscribers have already generated tens of thousands of dollars in revenue.

Tia’s precision linking highlighted valuable, underused resources, leading to more time spent on the platform and broader content discovery.
